Bakerella

I went to Bakerella book signing event today. I went to school early in the morning to see my department director (director of Web Design and New Media), I was wearing a pair of jeans and an oversized shirt, but when I went to the bathroom at school, I broke my zipper. Accidentally, obviously. So glad that I brought an extra dress in my bag. After I got my outfit changed, I went straight to Chronicle books headquarter at 2nd Street. I came there way to early. 40 minutes early, nobody was there. I was the first. Bakerella is a baking blog by Angie Dudley. She's the one that makes the craze about cakepops! I made cakepops twice (sadly, I don't have pictures) based on the recipe on her blog, that was before she released her book. After she released her book and I bought it (I even got them pre-ordered), I didn't have the time to actually make cakepops again. Maybe anytime soon =) Well, she's really nice in person and full of smile. =D

Strawberry Cake

..so I made a strawberry cake.. 2 layers of it with 9 inch pans. It was for my 64 months celebration with my boyfriend. He doesn't really have sweet tooth, so I reduced the sugar for the icing. It was really good. I really like the icing, it tasted just like Sprinkles cupcakes icing. The cake was great, even though I think the gelatin made the cake kinda hard. The recipe for the cake is from here and the icing is from here, I modified the icing a bit though to made it less sweet. The strawberry puree I got it from here. I had a lot of extra icing left, so I decided to eat strawberries with the icing. Yummy..!

So I went back to my hometown for the whole summer. A week before I left to go back to the Bay, my sister and I went for a photo shoot with Herna Fotografi. The photographer is my friend. She's so fun to be with. Very talented photographer, ...and she's a law student too. How awesome is that. Make up by Sheila Wang. The locations were just gorgeous, but it was too hot. Inside My Blackberry

I remember how my school's department director once said, we should have an exhibit about what pictures do we have in our cellphones. Screaming for Spring.

You can never tell the weather here in San Francisco. It would be cold today and the next day would be burning hot. Since I grew in a tropical country; hot, humid, yet beautiful Indonesia, I kinda hate this kind of weather. I don't think I will be able to adapt. It is so funny how I have to walk drag myself in the rain just to go to school or even worse sitting in the class listening to critique after critique before lecture session while the weather is so nice outside. These days, you still can't tell. I remember when I first got here the spring weather was so nice.. But since last year I can't even remember how summer feels like. It's been windy all day long,, it's been raining for the whole week last week. I want hot weather. Period. I am screaming for spring.
